FIRST LOVE - THE MACCABEES

The Maccabees carried me through my Sophomore Year. No joke, I think this song was on every playlist I made in 2017. It's lively and a tad bit absurd, which of course, makes me love it even more.

First Love will forever be a jam.

BEAUTY - THE SHIVERS

Something. About. This. Song. Is just, Wow. The timbre of Zarriello's voice wraps around your core and makes you feel like you belong. This song is great for laying in bed, napping in public, cuddling with your significant other, and so much more.

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO LOVE - THE DRUMS

This song speaks for itself. A bouncy, energy-filled song about lost love, it certainly deserves a listen.

"I Don't Know How to Love," is a new favorite of mine, that I'm sure I'll be carrying through the remainder of 2018.

PARIS - MAGIC MAN

Paris is a classic. CLASSIC. Sometimes I feel like a fraud, because I know I didn't appreciate it as much as I do, until Eleanor Barnes (aka. Snitchery) made a video talking about her favorite songs. She mentioned Paris, so I took a closer listen and I fell in love.

I EXIST I EXIST I EXIST - FLATSOUND

Have you ever heard a song that felt so right you couldn't find words to truly express the feeling? That's how I feel about Flatsound's I Exist I Exist I Exist. It starts off with this beautiful acoustic guitar and flows into low gravel-sounding lyrics that put me to sleep.

It's a slow song all throughout, so if that's not your style, feel free to skip to the next one. I won't be offended.

BRAIN - BANKS

I couldn't make a February playlist without including this song for those who are at ends with the ones they love. This can even be a crush, which is essentially love from a distance, it doesn't matter.

There's an agony that accompanies the frustration you feel when the person you love isn't true to themselves. This song is the perfect embodiment.

SOMEONE NEW - HOZIER

This song speaks to me in more ways than one. I have an awful habit of falling in love with the image of a person, or rather the way I imagine them to be. This goes for anyone, whether I think someone could be a cool friend, a potential partner, or is a generally beautiful human.

Whether you're falling in love with ideas or searching for yourself through another, this song will hit home.

SWEET CREATURE - HARRY STYLES

I'll be honest. It took a while for me to hop on the Harry Styles fan-wagon. I wasn't a "directioner," and didn't get the hype, so when the band split, I wasn't any more or less interested in their individual songs.

However, Spotify and one of my casually obsessed friends put me on to Harry's solo songs. Sweet Creature was the first song I heard and it still strikes a pretty sweet cord.

WASH. - BON IVER

Bon Iver will always have a place in my heart. I was so obsessed with him freshman year, that my best friend bought me a necklace with the lyrics of Skinny Love.

"Wash." has made me feel so many emotions. I couldn't tell you exactly why, but the beauty of the song is overwhelming. Listen for yourself.

QUIET - EXES

This is a very new find, saved especially for this playlist. It's a great way to cap the songs, because no matter how you felt before Quiet, you'll leave the list feeling a bit more balanced.
